Kudzu Cloth

Laos Produce. In Laos, the thread is knitted together to make shoulder bags for carrying threads and needles. It has a beautiful shine, and is a very durable fiber. In AONI, we weave the thread and make it into an eight-Sun (approx. 30.4cm width) Obi. This cloth is weaved by a stick backstrap loom, hard to imagine due to its even texture and selvedge...Different expressions with different techniques like knitting and weaving, shows how interesting of a material it is.
